Edgell Building
This project is part of the Energy Star program and the Missoula Green Building Initiative pilot program.

Some unique features of this house are that the foundation is made of Rewards Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF). While the basement is unfinished, the walls are already insulated for the buyers (R-22). There is a 90% efficient gas forced air furnace and a 93% electric hot water heater. Along with R-48 insulation in the ceilings and R-21 in the exterior walls, this house will help lower energy bills while keeping the owners warm in the winters and cool in the summers.

Riverworks
Structural Insulated Panels
In 2008, Riverworks, Inc. will complete the first Gold Level certified home in Montana using the NAHB Model Green Building Guidelines. This Craftsman style home located in the Rattlesnake features sustainable building techniques such as ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) foundation wall construction, an in-floor radiant heat system utilizing a geothermal heat pump, SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) construction for the main exterior walls, upgraded insulation levels (R 50 in the ceiling), engineered trusses, reclaimed timbers, solar panels, metal siding, energy efficient lighting and appliances, and locally harvested wood for the trim materials. These practices along with many other selections have elevated this home to the Gold Level.
